"The volume deals in a special way with the topic of reading. Five well-known novels of world literature in their original languages were treated as follows: First a certain edition of the novel was chosen. From [each] page of this copy were taken only the first and last word. The words in between were left out. The thus reduced text depends, of course, upon the edition [chosen]." (p. 202)
"The author of the READER is neither Cervantes nor Grass, neither Victor Hugo nor Thomas Mann, and it isn't Virginia Woolf either. The author's name is Peter Malutzki, even if [his name] doesn't appear on the title page and in the colophon calls himself only the designer." (p. 106) (form the catalogue) |
