| This is a facsimile, though not to size, of Matisse's famous book 'Jazz'. The original images were hand cut collage designs which were then reproduced by Edmond Vairal as 'pochoir' or stencil prints and Matisse's handwriting was printed in facsimile by Drager Freres.
The introduction in this facsimile edition is by Riva Castleman. The translation of the text is by Sophie Hawkes. |
