"There's a photograph I saw a few years ago that I keep thinking about. It is of a young female coyote, pacing back and forth on the roof of a bar in Long Island City, Queens. She's nervous, worried about being caught. Whoever took her photo also called the cops, who showed later to try to snare her; coyotes are classified as nuisances. She ran through the nearby window of an abandoned building and escaped." (Sarah Nicholls from 'Homesteading for the Urban Coyote') |
