| "When I came to selecting a poem, “Island Crossing” perfectly expresses the feelings of being so small in the natural world – the sensory awareness that is so overwhelming that you somehow feel as though you no longer exist. To that end I cut numerous echoing windows in the pages of the book, juxtaposing a slightly displaced image from the page before, seeing words disconnected oddly from their sentences, mirroring the cognitive dissonance of the poem."
