Firestation Print Studio joined with Migaloo Press in this book and print project. It is part of the larger 'Overwintering Project: Mapping Sanctuary'. The main aim of the Overwintering Project is to bring visibility to Australia's most endangered group of birds, our migratory shorebirds, and their habitat by asking artists to connect with their local shorebird habitat and create a work in response to it. Sue Poggioli and Jennifer Struerzl of the Migaloo Press initiated this particular project which included 32 artists. The outcomes of the project were exhibitions in Brisbane and Melbourne. Three books of the original prints were bound in a concertina format and donated to the State Libraries of Queensland and Victoria. Digital reproductions of the prints have been published in this book in order to extend the project. Artists also involved are: Karen Neal, Margaret Marks, Jen Conde, Sue Top, Anna Bonsheck, Jennifer Stuerzl, Evelyn Upton, Jenny Sanzaro-Nishimura, Nyrel Saunders, Domenica Hoare, Kay Watanabe, Anastasia Kotzapavlidis Vivian Broadway, Jan Liesfield, Wendy Leason, Sue Martin, Geraldine Connolly, Linda Chandler, Edith May, Jennifer Rogers, Nicola Moss, Belinda Kopietz, Carol Kite, Peter Ward, Trudy Rice, Michelle Hallinan, Catherine Money, Alexandra Irini, Pat Zuber. |
