"I have stayed at Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula, (near Melbourne, Australia), for several weeks nearly every year of my life. Recently I was surprised to discover my great-great-great grandparents, Hannah and William Crook were part of the first settlement attempted at Sullivan Bay, Sorrento.
"In this book I try to capture Hannah's voice and her experience through asking – Where was Hannah? What was she doing while she was in Sullivan Bay? What was she thinking? What was her impression of this new and foreign land?" Anne Twigg |
