"The text for this work is by W.A.W de Beuzeville, a forest ecologist and author of the book, 'Australian Trees for Australian Planting', published in 1947. He writes passionately against the felling of native forests and woodlands and details the environmental degradation that deforestation causes. He promotes the planting of Australian native trees on farms and in towns.
"In the text chosen here he talks about the need for areas to escape to from the busy-ness of life. "The relief prints capture the starkness of the damaged landscape in which the horizon becomes a harsh, exposed line." Monica Oppen |
