The title translates: About the Spiritual in Art. This book was first published in 1912. Kandinsky said in 1913 that he had been in the habit of writing thoughts down and so 'Über das Geistige in der Kunst' came about unnoticed. The notes which were to become this book were written over at least a ten year period.
