"A 'remake' of a Book of Hours from the early 16th century and an attempt to bring the contents of a 500 year old book into the modern contemporary artist's book form. The model was a parchment manuscript from the collection of the Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel, the Books of Hours of Duke Augustus the Younger. Almost all the texts of the prayer book (written in an old form of the German language) are used in the 'remake'. Parts of the original illustrations were used for the design of the 81 picture pages of the new book." Peter Malutzki
