| 'Schlechte Wörter' translates Inferior Words. The text is a contemplation on the nature of language, the power and precision, or conversely the vagueness and impotence, of words. Aichinger prefers the latter, recognising the inherent danger of language. Interestingly, Malutzki chooses as inspiration for his illustrations, the Andersen's fairy tale 'The Emperors New Clothes', a tale all about the delusional possibilities of language. The illustrations show figures made completely of clothes. |
